A Serious Injury For The Dallas Renegades

Landry Jones

Well, this fucking sucks. Landry Jones was the very first player signed to the XFL. Ironically, he is the very first player to show up on an injury report. Not only is he a number one fantasy option at quarterback, he is also a key element to the Dallas offense. Coach Stoops had this to say about his star player:

“We are sorry to see Landry sidelined for the next 4-6 weeks and are hopeful he will heal quickly and be back on the field at our opener, if not just shortly after. Landry is the leader of our team and will continue to play that key role.”

Bob Stoops on the injury to Landry Jones

Four to six weeks?! The season is a month away so Bob better pull a rabbit out of his hat. By rabbit I mean a gunslinger, and by hat I mean free agency. The only other quarterback that’s on the roster is Phillip Nelson. Who the fuck is this guy? There is still a lot of talent available at the quarterback position, so no need to lay all your eggs in this basket.

Other Options

Eric Dungey – Former Syracuse quarterback, and signed by the New York Giants following the 2019 draft. He was quickly released and then spent 2 months on the Browns practice squad.

CJ Collins – Undrafted rookie out of SAGU, was signed and released by the Green Bay Packers.

Zach Mettenberger – Former LSU quarterback who spent some time with the Tennessee Titans.

Joe Callahan – Former Wesley quarterback, and spent some time with a number of NFL teams. However, he only saw the field once in 2017 with the Green Bay Packers.

Johnny Manziel – I wish! This would be the perfect option. Too bad the XFL is trying to be “professional” and won’t let him play. Loosen up Vince, leave the family entertainment in the WWE.

Collin Kaepernick – He has been ready for three years and denied for three years.. You would think he’d like a shot in the XFL. However, the league probably can’t afford him and Nike is paying him too much.

The last two are long shots, but the others could be potential candidates. Either way they need to make a move fast. There is still 2 weeks left of training camp, and you can’t just run with one quarterback. It’s your move Bob. Stay tuned for more injury updates. This is Domi departing, hold it.
