fantasy rundown

Welcome back to the Fantasy Rundown! We enter the 2nd quarter of the the 2021 NFL season. Lot’s of surprises going into the season, but there are a lot of games that are left to be played. Don’t beat yourself up if you are 0-4 or 1-3. Take it one game at a time, and start swinging for the fences with your lineups. If your 2-2 or 3-1, looks like your starting lineup is getting you by. Now is the time to sell high on some prospects who started off hot to begin the year to get you more wins. Let’s get started with the Fantasy Rundown.

All Stream Ahead

Trey Lance, SF QB 14

Trey Lance looks to make his NFL debut this week on the road against Arizona Cardinals. San Fransisco made sure to go get this guy with the 3rd overall pick in the 2021 NFL draft this year. Lance brings mobility to the offense that Jimmy Garoppolo doesn’t have. You can see what his coach has to say about him leading up to Sunday.

Kyle Shanahan does an outstanding job building an offensive game plan around his Quarterbacks. They go on the road to meet Kyler Murray and the Cards full throttle offense. This game total open at 53.5 on Sunday, and is now at 48.5 likely due to the rookie making his first start. I still think this total can go over even with Lance. I expect the RPO to be a big part of the game plan which will allow the 49ers to extend drives on offense. Start Lance with confidence, and you may even have yourself a starter for the rest of season.

Protect This House

Streaming defenses each week can help you take advantage of free points available in the waiver wire. Check for these defenses in waivers and plug them in your lineup.

Look for Minnesota to lick their chops on Detroit who has struggled to start the season. Lots of opportunity for turnovers in this game. New England is +9 ATS vs Houston. Davis Mills has not been able to get the offense moving for the Texans. Chargers are low key underrated defense. They could force Baker Mayfield to stay in the pocket, and make him throw the ball. Denver ranks 7th vs the pass & 9th vs the run according to DVOA. Pittsburgh ranks 23 in the pass and 26 in the run. Old Ben has struggled all season, and I’m willing to bet the Broncos defense gets on track versus the Steelers.

Dirt Cheap: Treasure Hunt

This is the most important piece I write in these blogs. If you have been paying attention you could have landed Chubba Hubbard, Damien Williams, Samaje Perine, and Alex Collins who all expect to start this week. Strive yourself to find the diamond in the rough, and stash on your bench in case their value goes up over the weekend.
