Frank Davis may have passed, but the fishing season is really starting to heat up like the ole son of a gun is back. Davis would have been tickled pink at the sight of this spring’s tuna run. The Lump was on fire and so would have been Frank’s enthusiasm. What a time for the best place to fish in the fucking world; the state known for boozing, grubbing, and fishing. The fishing phenom took part in all the above and educated average New Orleanians on how to do it right. Whether it was his weekly “Fishin’ Game Report”, “Naturally N’Awlins” features on WWL-TV, WWL-AM live sportsman’s radio talk show, or his morning kitchen segment on the Eyewitness Morning News, Davis was the perennial face of New Orleans and the outdoors. The king was a vibe, and we feeling them right now.
Frank Davis Never Quit
Davis went balls deep each time he launched the boat. There was just something about this man and fishing. The most treacherous weather nor fickle lunar cycles that haunt most mortals would not phase an legend like Frank. Week in and week out he hammered the fish, and he was never one to get skunked. His passion for life and the great outdoors was contagious.
