The Coronavirus has canceled sports and pretty much the world as we know it. Luckily for football fans, the NFL had just completed the season when the virus began to spread and grow to the pandemic it is now. Just last week, we watched the draft take place, and it was a great success. The next question was how long would the NFL delay releasing its schedule? In a normal year, the schedule would be released before the draft. For obvious reason, the NFL decided to delay the release this year.

No Later Than May 9th

May 9th is the date that fans should have circled on their calendars. This is expected to be the day that the schedule for all 32 teams is released. This is a few weeks later than usual, but with obvious reason. As of now, team facilities are still shut down.

Business as Usual

Despite all the teams’ facilities still being shut down, the NFL is planning to still have a 17 week season that will kickoff on September 10th. As of now, the league is still planning to have the Super Bowl in Tampa Bay on February 7th. Perhaps the most surprising part is that the plan, as of now, is to have fans in the stands! Obviously a lot can change from now until September, but this is music to football fans’ ears and news that I’m sure we all wanted to hear during this time. Stay safe and careful that way we can all enjoy the game we love come September! Hold it.
