Week 5 is upon us. Let’s hope this Monday Night Football outing is better than the last. The Saints have a chance to go back to the top of the NFC South, but a promising young QB, Justin Herbert, is standing in the way. These are the Keys To The Contest.

Keep Running The Ball
The biggest success for the Saints last week was the run game. Alvin Kamara and Latavius Murray both had very good games behind the best O line in football. Sean Payton needs to focus on keeping that train rolling. Kamara had 19 carries for 83 yards and a TD. Murray had 14 carries for 64 yards and two TDs. Priority number one should be to RUN THE BALL.

Cam Jordan Needs To Come Alive
Cam Jordan has been abnormally quiet this year. So far, he has just one sack and 11 tackles in four games. Jordan is a key piece to this defense. Demario Davis has been playing awesome as per usual. This defense has really been missing the pass rush so far this season. It helps out the secondary massively when they only have to cover for a short period of time. It is time for Cam to turn it back on and get to Justin Herbert.

Cam keeps getting better with age. Had a career-high 15.5 sacks in 2019. Has been named to the All-Pro team 3 straight years. Plus, he’s probably the best on social media out of the team. pic.twitter.com/WGIijHztLS
Limit Penalties
Along with the run game clicking, the Saints only committed four penalties vs the Lions. That’s the least this season by far. A repeat of that would be ideal. Championship teams run the ball well and don’t commit stupid penalties. That’s what the Saints did and they won even without six starters.
So, if the Saints can run the ball, get Cam Jordan back to being Cam Jordan, and limit penalties, it should be a good week 5 for the black and gold. Hold it.
