College basketball was made for Saturday. Over 70 games to bet all day long, what more can we ask for? Winners, that’s what! College basketball welcomed us back with a nice slap across the face on Tuesday. It was brutal, but that’s the way it goes sometimes. We are back with a few of our own Saturday basketball bets and we are looking to bounce back!
#18 LSU Vs #11 Auburn
LSU is coming off of a bad loss to Vanderbilt. A team that hadn’t won an SEC game in two years. LSU will travel to Auburn for this one. Will Wade acknowledged that for the Tigers to compete, they have to step up on the defensive end. Call me a homer but I think they will do just that. Auburn is riding high on a five game winning streak after beating Arkansas in overtime. I think LSU will have the advantage on the offensive glass and I look for a big game from Skylar Mays.
Pick: LSU +5.5
#15 Kentucky Vs Tennessee
The Wildcats are having an up and down year after dropping an early game to Evanstown. Clearly not living up to the usual high expectations, the Wildcats travel to take on the Volunteers. Tennessee is another team having a down year after a deep tournament run. The player to watch in this game is Immanuel Quickley, Kentucky’s leading scorer. I expect a big game out of him and his free throw shooting will come in handy late. Kentucky can score well enough and plays very well on the defensive end. Combine that with Tennessee’s inability to score consistently and Kentucky should walk away with the win.
Pick: Kentucky -2.5
#7 Duke Vs North Carolina
Speaking of a team not living up to expectations, North Carolina has fallen off the planet. A Tar Heel team that is normally tops in the country is sitting in the bottom three of the ACC. Roy Williams called them the “least talented” team he has coached. Don’t let this fool you, this is the closest rivalry in all of sports. With that being said, this Duke team might be too much. North Carolina doesn’t have the offensive firepower to keep up and won’t have a answer for Vernon Carey Jr.
Pick: Duke -6.5
#4 San Diego State Vs Air Force
The Aztecs are one of the best teams in the country. Their defense is the real deal. Air Force is not very good, losing to Nevada 88-54 in their last game. The same Nevada team that San Diego State beat 68-55. Air Force will come out fired up but they won’t be able to score nearly enough to keep up. San Diego State gives up 57.7 points per game. Lock down.
Pick: San Diego State -12.5
