When it rains it pours in Jacksonville. Their 2021 first round Running Back Travis Etienne suffered a season ending foot injury on MNF versus the New Orleans Saints in the 2nd preseason game.
Travis Etienne season was over before it even started.
James Robinson now becomes the lead back in Duval, and I expect him to make statement this year to lead the backfield in 2021. Last year he was a hero for fantasy managers finishing as the RB7 in PPR with 1,070 yards & 7 TD with his legs, and 344 yards & 3 TD in the air.
This Jaguars team looks a bit different from last year’s 2020 squad. HC Urban Meyer enters his first year coaching in the NFL. You have “The Sunshine Kid”, starting at Quarterback in his rookie season. James Robinson will try to put the team on his back, and make this 1-15 team into a 4-13 squad. Sorry Jacksonville fans, but at least your aren’t Houston. After the news of Travis Etienne season being over, Jacksonville’s RB appears to be skyrocketing up draft boards.
Fantasy Forecast: Clear Skies, Full Hearts, Can’t Lose.
I’ve moved James Robinson from RB 32 up to RB 22 on my draft board now that Travis Etienne’s season is over. Not only is he a power runner, but the guy’s got hands. He caught 49 catches on 60 targets last year. There shouldn’t be a reason why he comes off the field. Except One- BO-URBAN MEYER!
There’s no telling what Bo-Urban’s gonna do in his first time as Head Coach in the NFL. He brought in RB Carlos Hyde who I don’t expect to be any threat to Robinson’s opportunities/production. I did take a look into the future, and after the Jags bye in weeks 8-13 they have: @SEA, BUF, @IND, SF, ATL, @LAR.
He’s a heavy workload running back you can be glad to have as your RB 2 but I don’t expect him to finish in the top 10 again. What I would do is hope he has the breakouts in the first 4 weeks, and flip him for a more valuable piece for your roster before the bye.
