The news we have all been waiting for has come. Various sports around the world are resuming play. Soccer in Germany, England, and Italy all are back or have a planned date to return. We have heard all of the rumors for how and where the NBA is going to return, but not when. Commissioner Adam Silver has been waiting as long as possible to make a decision. He wants to have as much data to ensure a safe return to play and conclusion to the season.
NBA Targeting a July 31st Return Date
July 31st is the day basketball fans around the world will have circled on their calendars. Earlier today, Adam Silver informed the Board of Governors that the NBA will be targeting July 31st as the return date. Also, it appears that the games will take place in Disney World.

Playoff Format
While the decision on the location and date has been made, there has still been no decision made on the format. We have heard rumors of a 1-16 seeded tournament, World Cup Style, and a play-in tourney for the couple of teams on the bubble. However, there is one thing that has become about certain. The NBA will pick a format that allows Zion Williamson and the Pelicans to get into the playoffs. ESPN’s Brian Windhorst joined Get Up this morning and discussed how the NBA wants to make sure Zion Williamson is involved in the playoff plan. Ladies and gentleman, the Zion Williamson Effect is in full swing. Hold it.
