UFC 245

Closing out the year in a big way. The UFC is back home in Las Vegas with UFC 245 approaching this weekend. Dana White has done the fans a solid right before Christmas. Granting us with not one, not two, but three title fights. So lets break each fight on the main card down with why and who will win. Then I will bless you with some free Lagniappe picks for the under card. Correct, you can catch a full blessing right here…

Colby Covington vs. Kamaru Usman

Champ vs. Champ, The UFC has a bad habit of creating Interim Champs. At UFC 245 we will find out who is the real Champion of the UFC Welterweight Division. Relevancy seemed to weigh heavy on both fighters minds at the presser on Thursday before the fight. It’s like both guys care more about what the fans think about them, rather than the fight.

Don’t be fooled…

These two are both playing acts, don’t let them fool you. Conor Mcgregor changed the MMA landscape and we are seeing that cocky persona surface with other fighters now. Colby is playing out his support for Trump. I like that he went to visit the President after winning the interm belt, soild move. Enough is enough though bro, just drop it.

I think both guys are equally matched in most categories. Usman gets an edge in power and Colby has an edge in cardio. I doubt we see a KO. This bout goes the distance, edging towards Covington.

Combat Corner Prediction: We got Colby via decision, hold it.

Max Holloway vs. Alexander Volkanovski

King of the Featherweights takes on another challenger this year. Nobody on the entire UFC roster has earned a title quite like Volkanovski has up until this point. 17 straight wins and he’s reached his chance at gold. Unfortunately, I believe he will be dispatched like all the other previous challengers Max has faced at 145. Holloway takes Volkanovski into deep waters and drowns him, just as he’s done everyone else with his insane pressure and pace. Mini Blessed will be proud.

Combat Corner Prediction: Max via late round TKO.

Amanda Nunes vs. Germaine De Randamie

Champ Champ KOs her challenger. Nothing more to say about the fight.
We can talk about how unbeatable Nunes is right now. She looks to be in a completely different talent category than her opponents. De Randamie was the former champ, but gave her belt up after refusing to fight Cyborg. Nunes starched Cyborg in an unbelievable showing. MMA math lies all the time. This isn’t one of those times buddy.

Combat Corner Prediction: Nunes via early TKO
